This guy looks like a dyslectic monk!! How about the scene where they are at a "sporting event"? Could you see me sitting in the "Big House" watching Michigan play football wearing this stupid piece of shit? This schmata looks like a flannel straight-jacket! And it's ONLY $19.95!
But wait...Theres More.!! Order now and you get Not One, but TWO clip on mini book lights!!
Now it's your turn...Please name me your most annoying Christmas commercial of 2008..
Yes, an interactive post. Please cooperate....(please?)

Mother Nature The Prankster.......

Hi Everybody....I hope Santa was good to you all. The Haynes Family enjoyed a quiet and joyful Christmas, 2 days off in the middle of the week, and lots of great food!!! In spite of all of the economic woes of the country, I delivered my 10th vehicle of the month on Saturday, so that assures a Bonus for the month! I have to work New Years Eve day at least till 4, so I don't know about any fancy parties, I usually just stay home on that night or just go over to my friend Alex's and get a pizza, way too many drunks and cops out that night....
It seems that more folks than just myself are taking a bit of a blogging break over the holidays, it sure is quiet in Bloggerville. Anyway...The first pic at the top is my driveway last week. I've paid a total of 50 bucks in all to keep my 100 feet clear and accessable. The second pic is my driveway this morning. It rained for 2 straight days with temps as high as 63 degrees!!!
Crazy ain't it?

Whether you are religious or not, Christmas is a time of giving.

It's NOT too late, call somebody that you love...NOW!!!

If you or someone that you know has written a Friday Flash 55, please come tell the G-Man. I will visit, read, enjoy, comment...Then Book!!! So from the most gracious host from coast to coast, Have a Wonderful Post Christmas Week-End.

Old and Cold........

Hi everybody!!!!
OK...This is the scenario.
There is anywhere from 11-14 inches of snow on the ground.
It is currently 8 degree's
There are 28 mph winds, with gusts up to 49mph.
The driveway (which I paid a guy 20 bucks to plow), is blowing back over with snow.
The wind chill is -15 degree's!!!!!
Yet "some people" like to send you pics of how they are coping with the weather.
The last 2 pics are obviously Jenn aka. Signgurl. She deservedly got to spend her birthday in Las Vegas with friends and family.
Won't she be glad to come back home tonight..hehehehe.
Wherever you are at...Please bundle up and stay warm!!!
Make sure you wear your hat, gloves, sox, and scarf..:-)

Friday Flash 55.....

Circa 1958...The last day of school before Christmas Break.
The substitute teacher gave the assignment...
"Draw a picture of your favorite Christmas Carol".
When we finished, and held them up for all to see...
The teacher asked me who the fat guy was next to baby Jesus and Mary.
..."Ma'am, thats Round John Virgin"!
If you or anyone you know has written a Friday Flash 55, please come tell the G-Man.
I will visit, read, enjoy, comment, THEN BOOK!! So from the most gracious host from coast to coast...Have a Great Week-End, and a very Happy Holiday!!

So I have Mr. Knowitall, in front of Mr. Knowitall!
We got 4 inches of snow last night. Starting at Midnight tomorrow night, we are expecting 7-11 inches more. Irving Berlin can kiss my fat ass!!!!

No...These just aren't a pair of old sneakers!
These are Nike Legends!!!
I've had these since 1986, and they are pristine.
If I had a better camera you could see what great shape they are still in.
I' have about 2 dozen pair of Tennis Shoes, and I rotate them.
See the heels? Not wore down a bit!
High tops are NOT stylish I know, but the support is MUCH better!!

Holiday Cheer........

Hi everybody, is it just me or is this one of the gloomiest Christmas Seasons in recent memory?
With layoffs, bail-outs, failed bail-outs, wage concessions, children growing up and moving out, skyrocketing utility costs, slumping auto sales, foreclosures, a never-ending war, disgruntled foreign reporters winging shoes at our Presidents head, greedy crooked governors....
I hope I see a light at the end of some tunnel real soon.

Hi everybody...10 more days to Christmas!!
Friday I received a box in the mail.
The contents made me exceedingly happy.
When you press a button the head bobs up and down,
and the headlight comes on, and it blares "Born to be Wild"!!
The very thoughtful Barman sent this to me...I Love It!!!
Thanks Bryan...You Da Man!!.....G

Friday Flash 55......

With Christmas 3 days away, he had one more gift to buy.

For weeks he walked ditches, and scrounged trash barrels.

Bottle deposits were only 2 cents in 1957.

Finally, he had 50 bottles!

When he went to the Dime Store with his dollar, this was all he could afford.

It was Grandma's favorite present....

If you or anyone you know has written a Friday Flash 55, please come tell the G-Man.

I will visit, read, enjoy, comment, Then Book!!! So from the most gracious host from coast to coast, have a Wonderful Week-End.

My Mother knitted this while I was still in the womb.
The winter of 49.
It's the only Christmas Stocking that I've ever had..Or ever will.
I remember a little quip that my Grandma used to to say, when someone asked how she was. She answered..."Fair, Fat, and Fifty!!
Well, I can only say that for one more year...EXACTLY!!!

Tasteless Tuesday........

Hi everybody, The King of Tack here.
I've had this white tree for eons, and every year people give me more and more Hallmark Harley-Davidson ornaments. The main tree upstairs is very tastefully decorated , so as NOT to defile it's Christmasness, I strung some Harley Orange lights amongst some multi-colored lights, and hung all my little cycles on my white tree!!! Cool Eh?
And how about my motorcycle Santa? Does the guy riding in that pic look a bit like him? hehehe

Saturday Nights All-Right..........

Hi everybody, hows the Holiday Season coming along so far?
The city that I work in is called Fenton. Every year they kick off Christmas with a community effort called Jingle-Fest. One of the highlights of the event is a parade put on by members of the local Chamber of Commerce. Our dealership always throws together a float, and some employees walk along and pass out goodies, and some employees (me) always drives a showcase vehicle.
As a reward for participating, our boss took us to a local rib joint called Beal Street. They serve a Memphis-Style (dry rub) Bar-B-Que, and I have to admit it was some of the best restaurant ribs that I had ever eaten. It came with pulled pork, slaw, delicious baked beans, and some terrific corn bread. Mixed with some cold beer and a real funky blues band, it was a very awesome Saturday Night. Heres wishin you all a great and productive week...

Friday Flash 55...

Office parties, Secret Santas, the seasonal grogs,
Mulled cider, hot chocolate, delicious egg-nog.
Holly boughs, mistletoe, and colorful poinsettias,
Every town is all aglow, from Butte to Marietta.
Toys for Tots, bell ringers, soldiers home on leave.
"Oh Come All Ye Faithful", "Silent Night", and "Greensleaves"....
...It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!!!!!
See? It's not just about Clappers and Chia Pets. If you or anyone you know has written a Friday Flash 55, please come tell The G-Man. I will visit, read, enjoy, comment, Then Book! So from the most gracious host from coast to coast, have a Great Week-End!!!

I've had this toy biplane ever since I was in the 4th grade, circa 1958.
The wheels still 'rev' and turn the prop.
